The capital city of Zhejiang Province, as one of the most renowned and prosperous cities of China for much of the last 1,000 years, Hangzhou is also well-known for its beautiful natural scenery, with West Lake as the most well-known location. You can easily get to Hangzhou by air or train. There are direct flights connecting Japan, Korea, Hong Kong and other large cities of China. It is a mere two-hour bus or train ride from Shanghai (frequent shuttle bus service is available between Shanghai's two international airports and Hangzhou downtown.)
