Surfing China
With support and guidance from the International SurfingAssociation (ISA) and Surfing America, Surfing China wasfounded in 2008 to promote the sport of surfing and the related lifestyle industry in China.
Surfing China is recognized by the Water Sports Administration Centre, General Administration of Sport of China as the governing body for the sport of surfing in China.
Surfing China's goal is to promote and organize, or assist in promoting and organizing, surfing conferences, seminars, championships, training, gatherings and other competitive and/or recreational events while facilitating the growth the of the related industry.
The Water Sports Administration Centre General Administration of Sport, PR China
The Water Sports Administration Centre is an administrative unit of water sports in General Administration of Sport in China. It has five departments in charge of sailing boat/board, rowing, canoeing, motor boating, water skiing, diving and action sports respectively.
The Water Sports Administration Centre membership includes Chinese Yachting Association, Chinese Rowing Association, Chinese Motorboat Association, Chinese Water Ski Association and Chinese Action Sports Association. The Water Sports Administration Centre is in command of two wate sports schools: Qingdao Sailing School and Zhanjiang Diving School.The Water Sports Administration Centre’s mission is to provide guidance and advice to nationwide water sports activities and to organize and/or authorize a member and/or third party to host any domestic and international events as decided by the Water Sports Administration Centre.
Hangzhou Sport Administration
The Hangzhou Sports Administration is the governing authority for all sports in Hangzhou. Its governmental function is to develop sports activities and improve the health of Hangzhou residents.
Mr. Zhao Rongfu, director of Hangzhou Sports Adminstration, has been providing great support to efforts to introduce surfing into Hangzhou and bring its lifestyle to the Chinese youth. The annual surfing events on the Qiantang River during the Tidal Bore Observation Festival will be regular activities in Hangzhou.
