2006 will witness the establishment of New Energy Asia Conference and

Exhibition on June 28th to 30th 2006 at China World Trade Center Beijing.

The event will provide a unique opportunity for the manufacturers and suppliers

of equipment and technologies for renewable energy to meet the increasing

needs of the booming market in China.

In order to promote sustainable human development and environmental

preservation, the gradual establishment of sustainable energy systems based on

the use of renewable energy resources is currently a general pursuit of the

global community. As a newly developing economy with the world's largest

population, China faces the dual challenge of pursuing economic growth and

environmental protection. In order to promote economic development and

environmental preservation, it is matter of global significance that China considers

new paradigms for energy production and consumption incorporating the

exploitation of its immense clean and renewable energy resources.
 

The Chinese Government has made the development of renewable energy a high priority in its national sustainable development strategy. Aggressive renewable energy development targets have been incorporated into the mid- and long-term strategic planning processes of the Chinese Government, for a 10% contribution from renewable energy in the total energy mix projected in 2020.

China could well become a world leader in renewable energy and transform global markets, after the Chinese top legislature passed the first renewable energy promotion law to help the country meet ambitious targets for the uptake of renewable energy

The Renewable Energy Promotion Law guarantees grid access for renewable energy producers as well as spreading the costs of new technologies across the sector. It will take effect on January 1st 2006.There is enormous commercial interest in China’s potential as a huge market for wind power and other renewable energy technologies. Last year, the market for wind energy in China grew by 35% even without the new law. China also has huge potential for solar, wave, tidal and biomass power and, clean-energy campaigners believe, with energy efficiency could meet all its needs from renewable energy alone.

Given this background, New Energy Asia 2005 will be the most important event focusing on the Chinese booming market of renewable energies. New Energy Asia 2005 will include Wind Power Asia 2005, Solar Photovoltaic Asia 2005, Biomass Asia 2005 and Geothermal Asia 2005.
